Welcome to Three Lions International School in Kumamoto.

Currently, we are looking for bubbly and experienced teachers who are enthusiastic about education and feel they can bring something unique to our team and the daily lives of our children.

Our goal is to bring together a team of exceptional teachers who can provide a secure and nurturing environment for our children to learn English, the Seven Different Areas of Learning and Development, and build a strong community within and outside TLIS.

We value applicants who have a strong passion for teaching, have experience working with children from all walks of life, and are committed to ongoing professional development (改善).

 We seek to provide:

  • quality and consistency in all early years settings, so that every child makes good progress and no child gets left behind
  • a secure foundation through learning and development opportunities which are planned around the needs and interests of each individual child and are assessed and reviewed regularly
  • partnership working between teachers and with parents and/or carers
  • equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring that every child is included and supported.

Our 5 overarching principles:

The five guiding principles which we use to shape our practices when educating children in the early years program are:

  1. every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured
  2. children learn to be strong and independent through the positive relationships built with their teachers and parents and/or carers
  3. children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between TLS teachers and parents and/or carers
  4. children develop and learn in different ways and at different speeds. At TLS we are always looking at the developments in the age-old discussion of “Nature vs. Nurture” and finding ways to support children with special educational and emotional needs.
  5. parents and/or carers need our support, expertise and knowledge in learning about different cultures, speaking in English, educating, playing and supporting their child or children’s development.
